This beautiful building was built in 1920 by architect Eddie England as his own home. Over the years the dwelling was divided into two - four flats, then in 1972 was returned to a family home once again and after further changes in ownership it became a bed-and-breakfast in 1990. After it was damaged in the Christchurch earthquakes, whilst completing the renovations it was converted in the Merivale Medical Centre - as it is today.
